The long version
Match My News emails you the moment a website you follow publishes an article matching your keyword. Free, no account needed — just a Google Form and your inbox.
Never Miss a Story That Matters to You
Match My News monitors any website with an RSS feed and emails you the moment a new article matches your keyword. No app to install, no account to create — just submit your keyword and email address, and we do the rest.
How It Works
Getting started takes less than a minute. You fill in a short form with three things: the keyword you want to track, the website you want to monitor, and your email address. Match My News then automatically discovers the RSS or Atom feed behind that website, checks it every fifteen minutes, and emails you the moment a matching article appears.
Each notification arrives directly in your inbox with the article title, a short excerpt, and a direct link to the full piece. The keyword is highlighted in the email so you can instantly see why the article was flagged.
If you ever want to stop following a particular keyword, every email contains a one-click link that opens a pre-filled removal form. No login, no settings page — just click, and you're done.
Key Capabilities
Track any keyword on any website
As long as a website publishes an RSS or Atom feed — which the vast majority of news sites, blogs, and online publications do — Match My News can monitor it. Enter the homepage URL and the system detects the feed automatically. You never need to find or copy a feed URL yourself.
Match multiple words at once with AND logic
For more precise tracking, combine terms using AND. A keyword like "climate AND policy" will only trigger an alert when an article contains both words, cutting out irrelevant noise and surfacing only the stories that truly match your interest.
One keyword per subscription, unlimited subscriptions
Each submission tracks one keyword on one website. Want to follow five keywords across three different news outlets? Simply submit the form five times. There is no limit on the number of alerts you can set up.
Instant confirmation email
As soon as you submit the form, you receive a confirmation email showing the keyword you registered, the website being monitored, and the RSS feed that was detected. If no feed could be found, the email tells you clearly so you can verify the URL.
No duplicate alerts
Once Match My News has notified you about an article, it remembers it. You will never receive the same article twice for the same keyword subscription.
Unsubscribe at any time
Every email includes an unsubscribe link that removes you from all future notifications with a single click. You can also remove individual keyword subscriptions without affecting your other alerts.
Who Is Match My News For?
Match My News is built for anyone who needs to stay informed without spending time browsing. Journalists and researchers use it to track topics across specialist publications. Communications and PR professionals use it to monitor coverage of brands, products, or people. Investors and analysts use it to catch sector news the moment it breaks. Anyone who has ever thought "I wish I'd seen that article sooner" will find it useful.
Privacy and Simplicity
Match My News does not require you to create an account or hand over a password. Your email address is used solely to send you alerts and is never shared. You remain in full control: every notification tells you exactly what is being tracked and gives you a direct way to stop it.
Frequently Asked Questions
What websites can I monitor?
Any website that publishes an RSS or Atom feed. This includes most news sites, blogs, company newsrooms, and online magazines. If the website does not have a detectable feed, your confirmation email will let you know.
How quickly will I receive an alert?
The system checks every fifteen minutes. In most cases you will receive your first matching alert within fifteen minutes of a new article being published.
Can I track more than one keyword?
Yes. Each form submission creates one keyword alert. Submit the form as many times as you like to track different keywords, different websites, or different combinations of both.
Is there a cost?
Match My News is completely free to use. It is an independent project maintained in spare time and supported entirely by voluntary donations.
How do I stop receiving alerts?
Every email contains a link to remove the specific keyword subscription it relates to. If you want to stop all emails entirely, click the unsubscribe link in the footer of any notification.
